Grand Canyon - Chiang Mai

Grand Canyon, located in Chiang Mai Hangdong area. Originally known as the Hangdong Quarry, it was an abandoned limestone quarry in the Hangdong area of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The quarry closed its doors and repeatedly rained on the space, turning it into a popular tourist attraction and resort over time. Thai people are free, but foreigners enter for 50 baht. However, I think it will rise to 100 baht when it is reopened. Water park is expected to be 450 baht separately.

There are various activities to enjoy at the Grand Canyon. Visitors can swim in the designated swimming pool or relax by the water. The water park is equipped with exciting facilities such as water slides and air-injected obstacle courses, providing enjoyment for both children and adults. Thrill-seekers can try an 8m cliff jump, while adrenaline rushers can experience zip lines across the entire canyon. ATV tours are available for those seeking to explore rugged terrain and capture breathtaking panoramic views.

There are a few things to keep in mind while visiting the Grand Canyon. Safety is a top priority, so it is essential to follow the rules and guidelines provided by the site. Proper swimming skills and care are required, especially when participating in activities such as cliff jumping or wakeboarding. In addition, it is recommended to wear appropriate clothes such as swimsuits and comfortable clothes and bring sunscreen and water to maintain moisture. You can rent rubber tubes or life jackets, so you'd better go and rent them.

However, what you should be especially careful about is cliff diving, and since there have been big accidents here in the past, it is recommended that people who are not healthy or who are not familiar with swimming do not do it.

If you plan to travel from the Gate.Taphe to the Grand Canyon, you can use a number of transportation options. There are some people who rent scooters near their accommodation in the city, but I don't recommend it. Hangdong is far away than I thought. It means it's far to go by scooter. And the road between Hangdong and downtown is a road where cars run pretty fast.
